Where's Yo' Head At?

Well, this is it; the oil painting I'd been working on for five months and wanting to get to post for over two.

This is the world reknowned guitarist, Brian "Head" Welch... before he left KoЯn... sad face.

This was the last piece that I worked on before I left the demon c*nt that was my previous art teacher's painting class. (I just couldn't stand to be around her, as I had too many issues going on at the time to give a f*ck about her.) Anyway, I started work on this after I finished Solace, and since I had to do a portrait for the new oil project I had to work on, I decided to to take a left out of my old book and paint something musician-related, and opted to pay tribute to the man who helped inspire me to get into music; Head. (Instead of making some lame-as-f*ck Dragonball Z amv on YouTube.)

Oddly enough though, the best thing to happen for this pic was when I left Mrs. C*ntrikson's class, both because I could work at my own pace and at my own leasure, but also because I had to get my own oil paints and supplies to complete this one... the only problem being that supplies are quite expensive (each tube of paint... and small tubes at that... cost me six bucks each.) Fortunately, as I kid I was taught to set aside 10% of all the money I earned for tithing, savings, my mission and college fund; I'd long since abandoned all but the tithing principles, though over fourteen years I'd put aside $80 for college; and since I won't be able to go to any college /university/institute at any time for at least two years, I decided to spend to money for the materials, upon the mentality that the money I'd be spending now would help me get into an institute of higher learning in the future, so all in all, I guess everything worked out. I mean, the results of my actions are right here.

Anyway, I had a good time working on this one; painting with oils are a lot more fun than with watercolors or acrylics, as it's solid like acrylics yet goes on smooth like watercolor. The colors are also really full, as you have to put down a brown underlayer to help bring out the colors I put on it. But to really help out, I went out and bought KoЯn's UNToUcHABLeS to listen to while I worked on it; just like the Korn album parodies of last summer.

Anyway, enough talk; enjoy! But one last piece of triva; the name of this piece is named after a song of the same of a techno band called The Basement Jaxx, and the reason for it is I had a friend back in high school who told me about the worst thing anybody has ever done to the guys of KoЯn; his friend went to one of their concerts with a boombox, and keep in mind that this was right after Head ad left the band... so, he got as close to the stage as he could; and as soon as they came out on stage, he hit play, greeting the minus one guitarist nu-metal group with the blaring "Where's Yo' Head At?!"


And the thing that makes it even funnier is that he never told me what happened to his friend afterwords XD ....
